After months and months of uncertainty and temp living, we have been in our house for a week now. The first day here several of the new neighbors came over with their kids to say hello. Everyone seems very friendly. We consider ourselves the "pioneers" of the neighborhood since there are only about 12 houses completed right now. With the way the market is, it may be a while before it fills up with any more. Which is fine with us - it leaves plenty of space for the kids to play and ride their bikes and scooters. We opted for a modest 2300 sq ft so that we could actually afford to go and see the rest of Florida. Once we get some paint of the walls and palm trees in the front yard it will feel more like home. Still haven't made it to Disney World. Once the summer crowds start up there it may be fall before we make it. Our new neighborhood is behind one of the areas many golf courses. If you are into golf, here is what is looks like about 1/4 of a mile from us - http://www.joetowns.com/stjohns/golf_home.asp It must be torture for people like my husband to have to drive by all of the courses here on the way to work and only dream of a day off for golf! I'll try and post more pictures later - our new address is 119 W. Teague Bay Drive, St Augustine, FL 32092 Here is a fun website with some info about St Augustine, Florida
http://www.staugustinelinks.com/st-augustine-history.asp We are really closer to Jacksonville, but right on the county line. Downtown St Augustine (about 20 mintues from here) is a fun place to visit - it has a pirate theme that the kids love!Monday, March 24, 2008
