So we are into our first full week of summer.....It took a couple of days last week for the kids to get used to the idea that they weren't going to school (Nate was thrilled, Lauren cried).
We don't have much going on this summer, a couple of day camps for the kids and a couple of road trips. We did swimming lessons during May and the first part of June. I'm going to try to get out my camera more and document the daily stuff we do to pass the time. The pool we hang out at is closed on Mondays so yesterday Nate pulled out our slip-n-slide. Of course a 9 year-old boy is not happy with just running and sliding on it. He had to pull everything out of the garage to see what worked best on the wet plastic (yes he was upset I wouldn't get out Crisco or baby oil to make it more slick - thank you Rodney for filling his head with those lovely thoughts...) So he found the right combo with an intertube and a body board on top. He left them at the edge of the slide and then would run and jump on - it actually worked pretty good...
OK, there was a lot of trial and error....
