Cherishing the Caboose Child

It's final. Adios. So long. The end of the line. Ciao. Sayonara. The shop is officially closed. We knew after my last pregnancy with Brooke that she would be the grand finale to our traveling circus. It took years to conceive her and between my health during pregnancy and our ages (sorry Rodney, I know you hate to admit that we are not 25 anymore), we knew she would be it. We were thrilled to welcome her one year ago and last Friday (the 4th), she turned 1 year old. It's interesting when you have a baby. You spend many of your sleepless nights wishing your little one would hurry and get out of whatever "baby phase" they might be passing through. The other nights are spent holding them, smelling their baby fine hair wishing they would never grow another inch. I have spent many nights lately feeling the latter. With every new trick or movement she makes, I know that my sweet baby is quickly turning into a full blown toddler. Soon she will be following her siblings footsteps and running around yelling, teasing, and antagonizing each of them as they will her. But enough about the monsters they turn into.... For now I'm trying to thoroughly enjoy each day of her babbling and toddling around excited about each new thing she comes in contact with. She is a great mix of Nathan (even temperament) and Lauren (our firecracker). We could not have asked for a better baby the final time around. So happy birthday Brooke Averie Reinhardt. May your next year be just as full of wonder and excitement as you learn more about this crazy world around you.... Mommy loves you Brookie Bear
