We headed 8 hours northwest to Sylacauga, Alabama for Christmas this year. Rodney's mother, grandmother and aunts and uncles all live there. The kids were thrilled to open most of their gifts up 2 days before Christmas at home. We did make sure to let Santa know where we were going to be Christmas Eve so that he could stop off with stocking treats and a gift.
Rodney's Aunt Janice hosts the Christmas Eve dinner each year and man can she cook!! I would have travelled twice the distance to partake of anything from her kitchen. It was such a great day.
This is Rodney's Uncle Rod, his almost 90 year-old grandmother Forrest, Aunt Janice and his mother Vivian.

Rodney's dad made the trip up from Florida to be with the kids on Christmas morning.....I couldn't resist snapping a pic of him and his parents - together.
Lo and behold, amidst the Christmas day boredom, it started snowing.... the kids were so excited!
So once again, happy holidays! I love this week of "in between". We already have Christmas stuff in the attic and are ready for the new year!!
